2008 Missouri Reunion
INFORMATION FROM THE PAST

The morning of May 3rd found descendants and friends of the Orphan Train
meeting at the Riverside Church in St. Joseph for the Seventeenth Annual MO
Orphan Train Reunion. Sharon Hibbs and her husband presented a workshop on
the services that the Family Search Department of the Latter-Day Saints Church
provides entitled “How the Family Search Department can aid you in your search”.
By calling 800-346-6044 the nearest family history center can be located.  At
www.
familysearch.org you can search online databases that contain over 957 million
names. There is no charge for the help.

After lunch descendants shared their stories. We had six descendants present.
Mary Ellen Johnson, founder of the Orphan Train Heritage Society of America, also
shared about the Orphan Train. After the descendants shared their stories Crystal
Stuck from the St. Joseph Public Library did a great job in presenting a workshop
on “Free Genealogy Web Sites & Preserving Old Photos & Papers”. The web sites
